An Orlando father has been taken into custody following a harrowing incident at a local Walmart, which prompted a swift law enforcement response last Saturday. According to FOX 35 Orlando, the Orange County Sheriff's Office reported a kidnapping at around 1:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Semoran Boulevard. The victims were allegedly pursued into the store by the suspect, who discharged a firearm before leading them to a vehicle and fleeing the scene.
In what was later described by deputies as a domestic in nature situation, the suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Makence St. Hilaire. He's accused of kidnapping both his child and the child's mother. A press release indicated that he briefly eluded authorities before being apprehended. According to a WESH report, the victims were fortunately located on the same day and were unharmed.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office underscored that, although the situation was traumatic, there were no injuries reported among the victims. As detailed in the case, St. Hilaire now faces serious charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and kidnapping.
