A family dispute in Oxnard took a violent turn on Monday when a police officer was slashed with a piece of glass by a disturbance suspect. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Astoria Place, around 2:30 p.m., according to the Oxnard Police Department. KTLA reported the wounded officer was subsequently hospitalized but is expected to recover fully from the one-inch laceration on the jaw.
Lucio Sedeno, the 34-year-old suspect involved, had allegedly battered a family member before the arrival of law enforcement and was reportedly non-compliant with Penal Code 290, which pertains to the Sex Offender Registration Act, as stated by the Oxnard Police Department. When officers attempted to apprehend him, Sedeno fled, leading to a chase that culminated in him obtaining a shard of glass and assaulting an officer.

Following the chase and attack, Sedeno was taken into custody without further incident and now faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, as per the police's statement.
