
Peoria police have taken a local teenager into custody on suspicion of vehicle theft after a series of incidents that occurred early Wednesday morning. According to a report by 25NewsNow, the 16-year-old from Peoria is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center, facing charges of motor vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. Police were alerted to a report of a stolen car on the 1200 block of W. University Street.
Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle after the owner tracked it to the 1400 block of N. Glenwood Avenue, as per 25NewsNow. The same location yielded two additional stolen vehicles, all found abandoned.
A statement obtained by PJStar explains that despite recovering the vehicles, two other suspects connected with the thefts have not been located. The search for the remaining individuals continues.
