
Authorities in Perry are investigating a harrowing incident following the discovery of four family members found dead in a mobile home at Westwood Trailer Park. The victims, identified as Beaulah Robinson, 82; Michelle Joiner, 51; Tuquondea Robinson, 37, and an unnamed 2-year-old child, were discovered by Perry Police Department officers on the evening of April 4 during a wellness check on Gaines Drive, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
According to the Perry Police Chief Alan Everidge, the officers were alerted for a wellness check at around 6:45 p.m. upon which they found the tragic scene, as detailed in the coverage by 13WMAZ, the victims appeared to be stabbed, a person of interest, a male with a possible connection to one of the victims, is being questioned even though charges have not been filed; The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has since joined the probe and autopsies are to be conducted at the GBI crime lab.
Capt. Jason Jones with Perry’s Criminal Investigations Division indicated the stabbings likely occurred more than an hour before their discovery, noting "From the appearances of what we had when we went into the residence, it wasn’t something that had occurred within the last hour," as per a statement obtained by 13WMAZ. Meanwhile, local community member Chuck Hill expressed his profound grief and called for justice, "I feel bad for my brother, I feel bad for my whole family, everybody is grieving, everybody is mourning, I grew up with these people, they were the nicest people I had ever met in my life," he told 13WMAZ.
As the investigation unfolds, the authorities have stressed that they believe it to be an isolated incident; nevertheless, the police continue their efforts to meticulously gather evidence and corroborate eyewitness accounts to recreate the timeline of events and ensure that justice is served for the victims, with Chief Everidge emphasizing, "We just want to make sure we do everything to help get every piece of evidence to identify who did this horrible crime," in a report by 13WMAZ.
