In a recent incident in Petaluma, a 64-year-old man was detained after allegedly approaching two female juveniles with inappropriate propositions. The Petaluma Police Department apprehended Robert Hofmann on Thursday after two girls, aged 15 and 16, reported his unsolicited advance.
According to the Petaluma Police report, the girls were sitting in Walnut Park when Hofmann approached and asked if they "wanted to have sex." The victims managed to leave the scene quickly and immediately contacted the authorities. Police responding to the call were able to locate and positively identify Hofmann, who was then on probation in Sonoma County.
The Nixle alert issued by the PPD outlines the charges against Hofmann, which include annoying a child under the age of 18 and violating his probation. These charges have landed Hofmann in the Sonoma County Jail pending further legal action.
