It was a scene characterized by generosity and community support in Placer County as the Child & Family Resource Fair unfolded, an event captured in a recent social media post by the Placer County Sheriff's Office. The fair, held in partnership with Placer County MDIC and the Children's Advocacy Center, turned out to be a hub of activity, with law enforcement officials playing a spirited part in bolstering the welfare of local children and their families. According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the day was marked by the delightful distribution of 14 brand-new bikes to well-deserving kids, thanks to the generosity of LIG Rentals.
Deputies at the event jumped in to swiftly adjust seats and handlebars, a gesture that stretched beyond the simple handing over of gifts to truly ensuring that the children could safely and comfortably enjoy their new bicycles. Complementing the giveaway, children were equipped with new helmets courtesy of partners at CHP, to ensure safety was the paramount priority. "Our deputies even jumped in to help the new bike owners adjust their seats and handlebars, check tire pressure, and make sure everything was good to go," shared the Placer County Sheriff's Office in their post about the event.
The day was also sprinkled with activities designed to foster strong community ties, including "Bike with a Deputy" rides that saw children pedaling through Maidu park alongside officers. Not confined to two-wheeled endeavours, the fair provided a variety of raffle prizes—with sidewalk chalk kits, Super Soakers, and kites—intended to carry the fun over into the summer months. A nod to local support was given to Rocklin Commons Walmart for their contributions that helped enrich the event.
Further emphasising the community-focused nature of the event, participating organizations offered free services such as dental screenings and parenting workshops, resources that represent the foundational stones of healthy family ecosystems. "Huge shoutout to Rocklin Commons Walmart for their generous contributions, and to all the amazing organizations that provided free dental screenings, parenting workshops, and valuable resources," the Sheriff's Office post conveyed.
