There will be congestion on Jones Dairy Road in the coming weeks. Starting tomorrow and continuing through mid-May, Iron Horse Contractors will begin road widening in preparation for the future Quail Crossing Subdivision. Work will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and travelers can expect the stretch between Green Mountain Drive and Friendship Chapel Road to be reduced to a single lane, with periods of two-way traffic.
While crews are working, flaggers and signage will be in place to help guide vehicles through the area. This traffic control is part of a broader strategy to prepare Wake Forest’s infrastructure for future development. Drivers may experience delays and may consider seeking alternate routes during this period.
To help residents stay informed, the Town of Wake Forest is offering resources such as an interactive map. Additionally, anyone seeking more details or wishing to speak directly can contact Billy Pugh at Iron Horse Contractors via [email protected].
The ongoing roadwork may cause temporary disruptions but is necessary for future infrastructure improvements. Residents are advised to consult the interactive map and allow extra time to navigate around the temporary roadblocks.
