
A 65-year-old man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in Sutter County on Sunday morning. The Sutter County Sheriff's Office was called to the Fremont Weir Wildlife Area at around 9 a.m. Deputies arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene, as reported by KCRA.
The suspect in a recent shooting has been identified as 80-year-old John Lee. According to authorities, both Lee and the victim were engaged in turkey hunting at the time of the incident, though they were not hunting together, as per ABC10. Lee was apprehended without incident and booked into the county jail. He now faces charges of second-degree murder and negligent discharge of a firearm, as confirmed by the Sacramento Sheriff's Office.
