
After nearly two months of investigation, Sacramento Police arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run case from February 1. The incident occurred near Club Center Drive and Natomas Boulevard, where the driver fled, leaving the victim injured. The Major Collision Investigation Unit worked on the case and was able to track down and arrest the suspect, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives gathered evidence and leads, which led to the identification of 31-year-old Antonio Garcia of Sacramento as the suspect. With enough evidence, detectives obtained a felony warrant for Garcia, charging him with hit-and-run resulting in permanent injury. Garcia was arrested on Tuesday, and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, as stated by the Sacramento Police Department.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their Facebook page, the arrest of a suspect was announced. They stated, "This arrest underscores the unwavering dedication of the men and women of the Sacramento Police Department to hold those who victimize our community accountable." The legal process will continue as the department's detectives work on the case.
