San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting the Paw-changa event, a pet adoption event with a fiesta theme. The event will take place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the shelter located at 4710 State Highway 151. It will feature family-friendly activities, entertainment, and an opportunity to adopt pets in need of a new home.
Adoption fees for the day are $50, which includes your new pet and some additional items. Each adopter will receive an official 2025 ACS Fiesta Medal and a goodie bag, while supplies last. If you're considering a new pet, you can meet potential adoptees at the foster pet parade. The event also features over 60 local small businesses in the Fiesta Paw'p Up marketplace, offering an opportunity to support the local economy and find unique items.
The event will feature a variety of food trucks offering Fiesta favorites, along with mariachis and folklorico dancers providing entertainment throughout the day. The musical lineup will include performances by Trío Ardiente, Alyssa Bernal Band, Bexar Brass, The Hyperphonics, and Mariachi Las Alteñas, as outlined in the city's event details.
For families with children, there is a Family Fun Zone featuring activities, crafts, and games for kids. General admission is free, and complimentary shuttle services are available for parking. VIP tickets, offering early access and additional perks, are available for $25 at SAACS.info/earlyaccess. The event is supported by sponsors such as Petco Love, Merck Animal Health USA, and Dogtopia.
