Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood saw two arrests and a drug seizure yesterday as officers on bike patrol targeted local narcotics activity. The Seattle Police Department reported the arrests of two men, aged 33 and 32, following separate drug transactions.
The first arrest occurred just after 8 a.m. when officers recognized the 33-year-old man, who had a prior narcotics-related arrest. He was found in possession of 3.6 grams of crack cocaine and cash. Less than 30 minutes later, a second arrest was made when officers observed a 32-year-old man exchanging cash for crack cocaine. He was found with over $1,500 in cash and 1.3 grams of the drug.
Both men were booked into King County Jail on charges related to the sale and delivery of cocaine. The Seattle Police Department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug sales in Belltown include the use of bike patrols to enhance visibility and response time.
