For those of you chauffeuring the future of Sevierville in the backseat, there's an upcoming event you might want to mark on your calendars. The Sevierville Police Department is switching gears to focus on the pint-sized passengers by hosting a free child car safety seat check. In collaboration with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, the department is showcasing its commitment to ensuring the youngest in our community are secured just right as they ride.
The inspection event, part of a child car safety seat training course for law enforcement officers, is scheduled for this Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Sevier County Rescue Squad, located at 1171 Dolly Parton Parkway. This initiative serves not only to check the proper installation of child safety seats but also to provide officers with hands-on experience in a real-world environment, ensuring they are prepared to assist parents and caregivers as needed.
In a social media announcement, the Sevierville Police Department encouraged participation: "Parents and caregivers, stop by and make sure your child car safety seat is properly installed or let us help you install it correctly!"
