On Monday, Chad Mathew Henderson, with a DOB of 12-10-1979, found himself once again in the grips of law enforcement. This time, the charge was for a failure to maintain his sex offender registration in accordance with Florida law. The original conviction that hung this scarlet letter around his neck was for Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a 13-year-old victim in Wayne County, Michigan, dating all the way back to 2001.
The most recent infraction unfolded after Henderson, having been arrested on a DUI charge by the Florida Highway Patrol on March 18, 2025, bonded out and allegedly failed to register his address within the mandated 48-hour timeframe post-release. Further investigation revealed that Henderson hadn't just neglected to swiftly to report his current abode; he had also fallen behind on his bi-annual check-ins since July 17, 2014. Details of this were narrated on the Hernando County Sheriff's Office website.
The sequence of events leading up to Henderson's re-arrest was initiated when the authorities got tipped off that he had previously resided in New York but had been staying at an address on Clovis Lane in Spring Hill since his release. Detective G. Marcacci of the Hernando County Courthouse subsequently made contact with Henderson, culminating in his arrest for failing to adhere to the FDLE Sex Offender Profile reporting requirements.
During his encounter with law enforcement, Henderson was booked on counts of Failure to Register Within 48 Hours after Release from Incarceration and Failure to Register Bi-Annually. The Hernando County Detention Center is presently home to Henderson as he awaits his fate, being held without bond for these violations.
