An incident unfolded in the community of Shelby County last Sunday, as deputies were called to the scene of a shooting that left one man critically injured. According to a social media post by Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the event occurred around 5:17 p.m. in the 5200 block of Diamond Cove.
Evidence indicates that this violent incident stemmed from a dispute involving another individual known to both parties. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male, whose identity is being withheld, with serious gunshot injuries. To swiftly address the situation, emergency responders rushed the victim to Regional One Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. A 30-year-old man, Altonious Scott, was apprehended by deputies.
Following the shooting, detectives specializing in violent crimes were brought in to conduct a thorough investigation. Their preliminary findings have led to charges against Scott. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Altonious Scott was arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt - Second Degree Murder.
