The initial call to action, covering South of Hamilton Parkway, East of Nave, and surrounding areas, was prompted by what was later revealed to be a shooting involving a group of juveniles. The Novato Police, Novato Fire, Marin Sheriff, and California Highway Patrol swiftly responded to the scene, according to a series of updates posted by the Novato Police Department on their social media channels.
The situation escalated as emergency services, including drone and canine teams from the Novato Police Department and a California Highway Patrol helicopter, swooped in to manage the disturbance and aid the investigation. During that time, residents were repeatedly urged to stay indoors, lock their doors, and report suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1. Novato Police extended the shelter-in-place directive, maintaining a heavy presence in the area well into the night to ensure community safety.
Finally, the shelter-in-place was lifted as the shooting investigation concluded, with the authorities, including Novato Fire, Marin Sheriff, Marin CHP, and CHP Golden Gate Air Operations, receiving gratitude for their cooperation and diligence.
