The City of Snoqualmie has terminated its police chief, Brian Lynch, following an external investigation into allegations of policy violations. Lynch had been on administrative leave since February 6 while the inquiry took place, examining "sustained violations" of the city's personnel policies and the Snoqualmie Police Department's standards of conduct, according to KING 5.
The termination occurred on Thursday, one day before the announcement. Mayor Katherine Ross communicated the city's commitment to an equitable work environment. "We are committed to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination and harassment for all," Ross said in a statement released by the city and obtained by MyNorthwest. Gary Horejsi, who was recently promoted to Captain in late March, has been named the interim chief as the search for a permanent replacement commences.
In the wake of this leadership shake-up, stability and the maintenance of community trust appear to be Snoqualmie's top priorities. "Our focus remains on serving the community with integrity and respect during this transition," Mayor Ross further emphasized, a sentiment echoed in the coverage from Valley Record.
