St. Johns County is enhancing its community, cultural, and tourism programs through a more collaborative approach. Under the direction of Tera Meeks, the county aims to strengthen its tourism appeal while preserving local history and community identity.
According to the St. Johns County release, County Administrator Joy Andrews stated, "These efforts reflect our continued dedication to strengthening tourism, enhancing neighborhood development, and preserving the rich history and identity of our community." The county also highlighted the work of Dena Masters, the Tourist Development Council (TDC) Administrator, who has been instrumental in guiding tourism and cultural development initiatives.
Masters oversees the Tourist Development Tax Administration, manages grants for arts, culture, heritage, and sports tourism, and coordinates advisory boards. She also manages visitor services, including the Beach Pier Visitor Information Center, and works on special projects like the City of St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights and the effort to achieve Certified Autism Destination status for the county.
