The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced a series of upcoming lane and ramp closures that will impact travel in and around St. Louis over the next several weeks. One of the major projects involves work on the Blanchette Bridge over the Missouri River. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Fridays and continuing through 5 a.m. on Mondays for the next three weekends, eastbound I-70 traffic will be affected. While three lanes will remain open, Missouri Department of Transportation will enforce an 80,000-pound weight restriction for semi-trailers during this period.

In addition to the bridge work, Missouri Department of Transportation has outlined several other construction zones that will reduce lane access on key highways. Southbound I-55 will be narrowed to one lane between I-44 and north of Bates, while northbound I-55 will also be reduced to one lane from north of Reavis Barracks to Virginia Avenue. The I-55 entrance ramp at Cherokee Street is closed and will remain inaccessible through 2025.

Additional closures are planned in St. Louis County and Jefferson County. These include ongoing construction on Route 67 over Coldwater Creek, as well as lane shifts on Route 21 and nighttime closures along Route 50 in Franklin County.

Motorists are encouraged to visit Missouri Department of Transportation’s official website for real-time traffic updates and detailed closure schedules. Weather conditions may affect the timing of construction, so checking for updates is recommended before traveling.
