"Scattered elevated fire danger conditions are expected across central and northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois this afternoon," the outlook warns. However, the tranquil scene is set to change Wednesday night with a 40% chance of showers and potential thunderstorms after 1am. Thursday to Saturday also brings the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, with chances peaking at 60% on Thursday. Nights will remain partly cloudy, with the lowest temperature forecasted to be around 42 degrees on Tuesday night. The weekend won't bring much relief either, as the unsettled weather pattern continues, with the "chance of showers and thunderstorms" through Sunday, according to the NWS.
