Hillsboro police have taken a 23-year-old suspect into custody in connection with an early morning shooting incident that occurred in a Fred Meyer parking lot. The altercation, which took place on Saturday, resulted in one individual suffering injuries, as KGW reports. Responding officers arrived at the scene near Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway and Southeast Century Boulevard shortly before 4:45 a.m. and immediately began to administer life-saving measures to the victim, who was later transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Further investigation directed authorities two miles away to the parking lot of Sunset Esplanade, close to Bank of America, where they discovered two vehicles cordoned off by crime scene tape. A red GMC truck, which had been reported as a suspicious vehicle and matched the description of the suspect's, was among them. This development seemed to quickly aid law enforcement to conveniently close in on the suspect apprehension, as detailed by a follow-up on the incident from KPTV.
The name of the arrested individual has not yet been disclosed to the public.
