A man has been taken into custody in Conroe, North Houston, following allegations of a sexual assault at a Circle K convenience store last Thursday. Click2Houston reports that Logan Michael Parker, aged 22, was located and arrested close to the scene of the alleged crime. According to authorities, the incident took place inside the store, where a 23-year-old female clerk reported the assault upon the arrival of Conroe Police Department officers.
Police quickly began investigating, searching for evidence and reviewing the store’s security footage. Thanks to what Conroe Police call “intelligence based policing,” they were able to quickly identify and arrest Parker. He was found near N. Loop 336 W. and Northwest Freeway Service Road, about 10 minutes from the store, as per KHOU 11.
The KHOU 11 article adds further detail, stating that officers were called to the store around 1:30 a.m. on April 10. They found the victim visibly distressed and provided immediate medical attention before detaining Parker at a strip mall along I-45 and SH 336. After being questioned by detectives, Parker was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault, crimes for which he is now incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail.
The Conroe Police Department credited the collaboration with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and the Real Time Crime Center for the quick resolution. "Chief Buckholtz is proud of the Officers for their tremendous effort and the use of intelligence based policing to get this violent offender off the streets," the department stated, acknowledging the notable contributions of various law enforcement bodies, as obtained by KHOU 11. While Parker remains in custody, the investigation is still ongoing.
