Following a recent shooting incident in Northeast Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Police Department has successfully apprehended a suspect. On March 17, a man sustained gunshot wounds. He sought help at a local Fire EMS station on 49th Street, Northeast, whereupon he was immediately taken to a hospital, as per the Metropolitan Police Department.
The subsequent investigation by detectives placed the location of the shooting at the 4000 block of Clay Place, Northeast. Last Friday, Mickyel Goodwin, a 31-year-old from Southeast DC, was arrested in Hyattsville, MD, by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, fulfilling the terms of an arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court.
Goodwin is now facing charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). This development marks a swift response to a violent event that rattled the community, with MPD officials remaining vigilant in their law enforcement duties. The arrest is hoped to bring some relief to the neighborhood, which was clouded by the unrest following the shooting.
