Nearly a year and a half after 19-year-old Breandrea Wiley disappeared from her home on West Little York Road, progress has been made in the case with charges filed against 40-year-old John Alberto Roman. Roman, who is already in custody for an unrelated aggravated robbery, has been charged with capital murder, according to a Houston Police Department news release.
Wiley was last seen on January 12, 2022, around 4:30 p.m., and despite ongoing efforts by the HPD Homicide Division and Texas Equusearch, her remains have not been found. Detectives view the charge against Roman as a significant step forward in a case that has faced many obstacles.
The investigation has been led by HPD Homicide Division's Sergeants M. Watson and M. Burrow, along with Detectives K. Amri and K. Hale, and assisted by Texas Equusearch. The HPD Homicide Division and Crime Stoppers continue to seek tips from the public at 713-308-3600 or 713-222-TIPS.
