Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office pursued and detained a suspect following the theft of a vehicle earlier this week, according to an official Facebook post by Harris County Constable Precinct 4. The incident, which led to the injury of another driver due to a collision during the chase, occurred within the 19800 block of Kenswick Drive last Friday.
When deputies responded to a theft, they spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to pull it over. The suspect fled, leading deputies on a chase. During the escape, the suspect crashed into another car, injuring the driver. The suspect was eventually caught by deputies without any more issues, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
The suspect, identified as Dandrae Heath, was reportedly out on a $100 bond from a previous evading case. Following his arrest, "Dandrae Heath was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading, and Fail to Stop and Render Aid," according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 statement on the matter. The total bond set for Heath is now $30,000, as decided by the 482nd District Court.
