A high-speed police chase on westbound I-94 in Macomb County yesterday morning ended in a crash, leaving the pursued driver seriously injured and the highway closed for hours. According to CBS News Detroit, Sterling Heights Police Captain Mario Bastianelli stated the incident began around 3:15 a.m. when officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle in the Metro Parkway and Dequindre Road area. However, the chaos unfolded when a black Dodge Charger caught the attention of police as it attempted to evade them and sped away, leading to a relentless pursuit.
The pursuit, which saw the Charger weaving through Warren and onto eastbound I-696, then southbound I-94, was abruptly terminated near the 9 Mile exit, where the vehicle crashed. The driver, a 27-year-old Detroit man, was ejected from the vehicle and was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition, WXYZ reported.

Its theft was captured by Flock cameras in the vicinity of Metro Parkway and Dequindre Road, prompting officers to spot the suspicious Charger.
