A suspected domestic violence offender was taken into custody after a tactical response by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office yesterday, officials said. The arrest followed a domestic disturbance call received on Sunday at approximately 4:30 a.m. in Wood Village, where deputies found a severely injured victim and the suspect on the run, according to a statement on the MCSO's website.
The incident unfolded at a residence on the 100 block of Cedar Lane. Deputies arrived to discover that the suspect had already fled. Inside the home, they located and secured multiple weapons for safety. The following morning, the situation escalated when a neighbor spotted the suspect returning to the scene in a pickup truck, prompting the deputies to establish a perimeter quickly and check the vehicle safely.
In light of the possibility that the suspect was armed, officials issued a reverse 911 notification to residents in the vicinity, urging them to remain inside. The local schools and daycare centers were also notified of the ongoing danger. "Due to information that the suspect may have been armed, and out of an abundance of caution, a reverse 911 notification was issued to nearby residents, advising them to remain indoors," the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
