Minneapolis police, in collaboration with the St. Cloud Police Department, have apprehended a suspected gang leader linked to a series of shootings, including one at the Minnesota State Fair last year. The arrest, which occurred after concerted efforts between the two police forces, ended with a seizure of a firearm and the suspect being booked in Stearns County. This information comes from a recent post on the official Minneapolis Police Department's Facebook page.
An MPD officer, who had been on the trail of the suspect, spearheaded the investigation. In a move to catch the fugitive, who was wanted for involvement in multiple shootings and a gun case, officers from both departments conducted a surveillance operation. Subsequently, thanks to their coordinated efforts, the suspect was located near a gas station parking lot and was apprehended without incident. A gun was found on the back seat where, reportedly, the suspect was sitting.
The arrest was praised as a demonstration of strong inter-agency collaboration and the dedication of law enforcement to community safety. "Great teamwork between our 4th Precinct officers and the St. Cloud Police Department led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in connection with a gun case and multiple shootings — including one that occurred at the Minnesota State Fair last year," the Minneapolis Police Department stated.
