Over the weekend, Knoxville authorities arrested Michael Thompson, a 36-year-old man implicated in a violent crime spree that had left a Florida man injured, according to an announcement by the Knoxville Police Department. The capture, a result of diligent work by the department's Community Engagement Response Team, ended a pursuit dating back to an alleged carjacking and shooting in October of the previous year.
It was in the parking lot of BucketHead Tavern where the chaos initially unfolded. The Knoxville Police Department, in a post on their official Facebook page, revealed that Thompson was wanted on a grand jury indictment charging him with attempted second-degree murder, among other charges. They were finally able to locate and decisively arrest Thompson during a traffic stop on Briar Rock Lane around 4:50 p.m. last Saturday.
In relation to the same event, two additional suspects had been previously apprehended and charged with serious crimes. The assault had not happened in isolation. Tre’Veon Bradley, 25, and Jaden Moore, 24, found themselves entangled in the legal aftermath, with charges including carjacking and especially aggravated robbery. These arrests, taking place in the closing months of 2024, painted a fuller picture of the incident that had surely rocked the local community.
