
An armed carjacking suspect was shot and killed by Tacoma Police Department officers on Saturday afternoon, after a series of events that began with a vehicle theft and escalated to include a multi-vehicle collision and an additional armed carjacking. According to FOX 13 Seattle, the pursuit came to a head in Puyallup.
Officers remained at the scene in Puyallup following the incident, suggesting that the investigation is ongoing. As per KOMO News, officers responded first to the stolen car's involvement in a collision near South 56th Street and Pacific Avenue.
Soon after, KING 5 reported that police were alerted to another carjacking at the original collision site, with a suspect description matching the first incident. Sgt. Charles Porche, a public information officer for the Lakewood Police Department, stated that the suspect exited the stolen car with a weapon and approached the officers.
No officers were injured during the series of events that led to this fatal officer-involved shooting. The authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspect nor the number of officers who discharged their weapons leading to the suspect's death.
