A deadly incident unfolded at a Rock Hill QuikTrip on South Cherry Road just before 11:30 p.m. yesterday, where a 16-year-old was slain. Law enforcement responded to the scene after reports of gunfire, discovering the teenage victim, as reported by WBTV. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Carnell Mike, 17, also of Rock Hill, whose capture took place in Richburg, South Carolina.
Charged with murder and firearms offenses, Mike is finding himself facing the gravitas of the adult criminal justice system. For a teenager under 18, being charged as an adult in such a case marks a decisive turn from juvenile to adult penalties. He faces charges of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18, as disclosed by QCNews.
In the wake of the violence, details have been scant regarding the victim. However, the Rock Hill Police quickly identified and detained Mike, who was found in Richburg and transported to the Rock Hill jail. Once arrested, Mike was charged, as indicated by WCNC.
