Early this morning, in the quiet before the city stirs, came a reminder that not all is still. The Baltimore Police Department reports a shooting on the 600 block of Allendale Street. At approximately 2:58 a.m., officers discovered a 17-year-old male inside a residence, wounded from gunfire.
As the situation unfolded, and while officers remained on scene, a second victim emerged. A 17-year-old female made her way to an area hospital, also suffering from a gunshot wound, her injuries thankfully assessed as non-life-threatening. Both incidents, as determined by the investigators, occurred at the same location on Allendale Street.
Paramedics were quick to respond, ensuring the male victim received urgent care at a nearby hospital.
The Southwest District detectives are now seeking community assistance, looking for any thread of information that might help weave a tapestry of understanding. "Investigators learned that both victims were shot in the 600 block of Allendale Street," a statement by the Baltimore Police reads.
