Attorney General Ken Paxton has publicly extended his congratulations to Aaron Reitz, who has recently taken the oath to become Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, as announced by a press release from the Texas Attorney General's Office. Reitz, having been nominated by President Donald Trump, will now lead the Office of Legal Policy.
In statements shared by the Texas Attorney General's Office, Paxton heaped praise on Reitz, asserting, "Aaron Reitz is a strong conservative leader who will serve President Trump and the American people with integrity. Aaron is a fearless defender of the Constitution and played a key role in stopping the Biden Administration’s lawless policies”. He continued to emphasize Reitz's aptness for this pivotal position citing his unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the nation's founding pillars.
Aaron Reitz, before this significant appointment, held the position of Deputy Attorney General for Legal Strategy at the Texas Office of the Attorney General. Here, he was involved in spearheading legal initiatives that spanned various domains – from border security to energy and agricultural employment, election transparency and the endeavor to bring accountability to major technology companies.
Paxton's endorsement does more than just support Reitz – it stands as an affirmation of a continuing conservative vision within the ranks of the Department of Justice, one that has been galvanized under the Trump administration. Paxton asserts Reitz's experience in Texas positions him well, for the challenges of his new role, "His commitment to the rule of law and our nation’s founding principles makes him the right choice for this critical role,” as reported by the Texas Attorney General's Office.
