In a recent incident in Healdsburg, California, three juveniles were taken into custody following an assault case that reportedly involved the use of a firearm. According to a social media post by the Healdsburg Police Department, officers responded to Healdsburg District Hospital on Tuesday after being notified about an assault victim in the ER.
Investigations led to the retrieval of video evidence, which showed that on the evening of the incident, at around 6:00 PM near the intersection of East St. and Mill St., a physical altercation took place. The footage suggested the victim was struck multiple times with a firearm. Running through numerous hours of investigative work, officers identified three juvenile suspects.
The following day, the Healdsburg Police Department announced the arrest of all three suspects. During the arrest proceedings, an unregistered firearm was found in the waistband of one suspect, which authorities have since taken as evidence. The suspects were transported to Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility without complications.
Each juvenile now faces a range of charges. The most serious among them includes assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm on a person or in a vehicle while in public, and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. Juvenile #1, found carrying an unregistered firearm, is facing additional charges related to possession of a firearm in a school zone and resisting an executive officer.
