Three men are recovering in the hospital following last night's shooting in Alexandria, Virginia. The Alexandria Police Department responded to the incident, which occurred in the 3800 block of Old Dominion Boulevard, near Notabene Drive, according to DC News Now. Officers found the men with gunshot wounds; two with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and another in critical condition.
According to witness accounts, about 15 shots were fired at the scene, suggesting a swift and chaotic episode of violence. Sherwin Lee, a longtime resident of the area, told DC News Now, "Well, of course, you’re concerned, but because I feel it was gang-related. It wasn’t a random thing…" The response to this violence, which crept again into these streets, is unfortunately familiar to the community.
The local authorities have launched an investigation but have not made any arrests so far. Alexandria police are asking anyone with information to step forward, sharing a contact number for Detective Griffin. Multiple evidence markers were visible at the crime scene, according to a witness who spoke with FOX 5.
Further information regarding the condition of the victims and the progress of the investigation will be provided by the concerned public.
