In a troubling incident that underscores the ongoing struggles within the animal welfare community, three small dogs were discovered taped inside a box at Heritage Park. The discovery was made by a city worker, and Everman Emergency Services shared the details of the event in a social media post. Describing the dogs as appearing once loved, with two being freshly groomed and cloaked in clothes, Everman Emergency Services conveyed the urgency to both locate their owner and find the person or persons responsible for their abandonment.
While the motive behind this act remains unclear, the Everman Emergency Services' post suggests a rise in distressing cases of animal abandonment. "Every day gets a little worse," they stated, reflecting on the growing trend. In their message, they implored anyone with knowledge about the dogs or the incident to come forward by contacting them at (817) 561-5495 or by email at [email protected].
Unfortunately, the dogs lacked microchips or tags, making immediate identification difficult. The Emergency Services appealed to the community to share the post, hoping that a local groomer might recognize the animals and aid in reuniting them with their owner.
