According to an advisory from the Charlotte County Public Works Department, a stretch of the right southbound lane between Cheney Road and Airport Road is scheduled to be out of commission temporarily.
The closure, marked to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Tuesday, is bound to add a bit of a snag in your travel plans. Expect the usual flow of traffic to be rerouted, as signs directing to a detour will be installed. While GPS might auto-update, knowing the streets tells a different tale — our advice: plan for a few extra minutes tacked onto your trip.
In light of the upcoming construction, the folks at Public Works are nothing short of insistent — stay sharp out there.
