A chaotic scene unfolded last Saturday at the intersection of Seabreeze Boulevard and North Peninsula Drive in Daytona Beach, where a two-vehicle collision sent a car careening into a local business, resulting in two injuries. The Daytona Beach Fire Department and Police rapidly responded to the scene of the accident, where one of the vehicles had struck Goldfingers Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery. This business was open and occupied by clients and staff at the time of the incident.
According to WESH, witnesses reported that the crash occurred when the driver of vehicle 1 ran a red light and collided with vehicle 2. This impact forced the second vehicle off its course, causing it to slam into the building. Inside, a nurse practitioner named Autumn Oakes found herself pinned against the wall by the force of the crash. Oakes recounted, "I was thinking, oh my God, I'm going to die. I know that sounds crazy to think that, that quick. But like so many thoughts, like, in seconds. It was crazy."
The local fire department acted quickly to secure the crashed vehicles and administer medical assistance. Volusia County EMS transported two individuals to the hospital, one of whom was declared a trauma alert, as reported by WFTV. Yet, details regarding the cause of the accident have not been disclosed, and it was not immediately clear if the injured parties were occupants of the vehicles or present within the business at the time.
