In a recent turn of events, the Metropolitan Police Department has reported the arrest of two juveniles following an armed robbery on Capitol Hill. The incident occurred on Sunday, as detailed in a statement from the MPD. The suspects reportedly accosted the victim with a handgun in the 100 block of 4th Street, Southeast, and absconded with various items, including the victim's iPhone.
According to the official press release, officers quickly responded to the victim's emergency call around 9:00 p.m. Having obtained consent from the victim to track the stolen smartphone, with the suspects described, officers nearby were immediately informed. While canvassing the area, they identified and subsequently arrested two individuals matching the suspects' description.
A search conducted on the juveniles confirmed they were in possession of the victim's property, which was recovered. Running through the night, the officers canvassing the location closed in on the suspects, leveraging the digital footprint left by the stolen iPhone. The identities of the two juveniles have not been disclosed due to their age.
