Houston Police Department have made headway in a case involving a shooting at a club on Richmond Avenue. The incident, which played out in the early hours of Sunday, has resulted in the arrests of Brandon Brewster, 30, and Makahri Harold Brewster, 21, who now face charges of aggravated assault of a security officer. The charges against the Brewsters were filed in the 337th State District Court, although their booking photos are currently unavailable due to their hospitalization, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Reportedly, in the wake of an argument that spun out of control, the security guards at the club tried to remove the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Having initially left the premises, the suspects chose to return, engaging in a shootout with the security guards. According to a statement obtained by the Houston Police Department, "The guards stated they had attempted to escort the suspects out of the business, a club, but the suspects had refused." For their safety and that of the remaining patrons, one security guard returned fire.
In their investigation, Houston Police Department officers connected two males hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the crime scene. Found alongside firearms in plain view, the suspects' vehicle presented several bullet holes. Further evidence established these individuals as the perpetrators of the earlier shooting.
None of the security personnel sustained injuries during the altercation.
