
The University of Utah's gymnastics team has once again propelled itself into the spotlight, with two of their clinching top accolades in the WCGA Regional Awards, as the Red Rocks maneuvered yet another year of exceptional achievement both on the mats and in the administrative realm, according to Utah Utes.
Grace McCallum, a standout senior on the Red Rocks' roster, has notched the WCGA Region 2 Gymnast of the Year award, a title that sits amidst a maelstrom of awards she's racked up in her final collegiate season including three Big 12 weekly awards, the Big 12's Vault and All-Around Champion, named the Big 12's Gymnast of the Year, a seat on every All-Big 12 teams categories, WCGA Regular Season All-America honors, and she recently clinched the title of NCAA Regional Bars Champion for 2025, McCallum also stands as one of six finalists for the AAI Award which is presented to the nation's top senior gymnast annually.
Moreover, McCallum's exceptional performances this season have catapulted her to tie as the second-ranked gymnast on bars, placed her at fourth on the beam, and left her sitting at ninth in the all-around national rankings, her scoring achievements include four perfect 10s in 2025 alone, three on bars and one on beam, tying her for fourth in Utah's history for 10s in a single season, and with eight total career 10s, she ranks fifth in school history for this dazzling feat.
On the administrative front, Cathy Badger, in her inaugural year as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services and Sport Supervisor to the gymnastics team, earned Administrator of the Year distinguishing herself by implementing effective strategies that have not only solidified the team's continued excellence in gymnastics, reflected by their undefeated Regular Season and Big 12 Championships, their 13-year streak in achieving a 100% GSR, and 59 semesters of a cumulative team GPA above 3.0, but also by navigating the team to their 49th straight appearance at the NCAA National Championships, inadvertently ensuring that the No. 4 ranked Utah Gymnastics kept hitting their marks throughout the entire 2025 season.
