Motorists in Missouri, take note: Route KK will see closures starting tomorrow. The stretch between Route 185 and Route C is under the department's repair radar to address aging culvert pipes. Starting at 8 a.m. on April 30, crews will commence work, initially operating a one-lane flagging system for the traffic before tightening the screws on this route from Friday, for a full closure, as reported by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
It appears that up to a whopping 10 culvert pipes demand MoDOT's attention throughout this project. In an effort to keep disruption minimal, indicative signs will pepper the route in advance, as stated on MoDOT's website. Chiseling through the belly of the workweek, the proposed schedule pins activity from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Drivers who burrow through the local terrain on the daily commute, worry not: detours abound. There’s Koelkeback Road to Bucklick School Road – that’s the green-highlighted path for the visually inclined. Alternatively, the orange blaze is marked by Oliver Lane steering towards Route 185. These diversions will pivot, contingent on which pipe is currently in the operating room.
Adapting to the whims of the heavens, all work is tethered to the mercy of weather permissions. Frequent updates will be dispatched, capturing the migration of construction sites. MoDOT encourages those ensnared by the closures to chart alternate routes, whipping around rather than burrowing through the congestion.
