Cleveland's weather outlook appears mostly tranquil, with the National Weather Service predicting a dry and warming trend for the next couple of days. As high pressure vacates the vicinity, Wednesday ushers in a warm front, setting the stage for clear skies and temperatures climbing into the 70s, according to the NWS Cleveland's area forecast discussion.

While most of Ohio should remain dry on Wednesday, there's a slight chance of showers in Toledo late in the day as a warm front approaches from the west. Lake Erie's influence is expected to cause a temperature drop along its shorelines due to afternoon breezy conditions. Into the night, clearer skies will allow temperatures to dip into the 50s, while Thursday is anticipated to bring highs into the 80s for some, with a prevailing stronger lake breeze in the afternoon.

As we move into the weekend, the forecast becomes more active with a series of weather disturbances on the horizon. One shortwave trough from the central Great Plains is set to track towards the Great Lakes region by Thursday night. It's closely tailed by another feature heading southeastward, pushing through on Saturday morning. "Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday night through Friday night as instability, including elevated instability, is released," the NWS Cleveland's report details. Some thunderstorms could pack a punch with the potential for severe weather given the right mix of moisture and atmospheric energy.

Temperatures throughout the period will exhibit a rollercoaster effect: from Thursday night lows in the 50s and 60s, to daytime highs in the 70s on Friday, followed by a cooler spell after the cold front passes. Saturday night into Sunday morning could bring the coldest conditions, particularly in the valleys of interior Northwest Pennsylvania, where patchy frost may form as temperatures plummet.

In terms of aviation and marine interests, VFR conditions are expected for most of the region, with a note that "Non-VFR conditions possible in scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms Friday into Saturday," which could impact air traffic, according to the NWS Cleveland. Over Lake Erie, marine conditions will remain relatively calm through Thursday under the influence of a ridge, before becoming choppy with the incoming weather systems and potential advisories by the weekend.
