Visitors and residents planning to attend should be mindful of the parking restrictions and road closures that will accompany the festivities. According to the Metropolitan Police Department's traffic advisory, beginning on Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. and continuing until late Sunday night, there will be a number of streets designated as Emergency No Parking and closed to vehicular traffic. These closures include Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue, ranging from 3rd to 7th Street, NW, and parts of 4th and 6th Streets.
But there's more, commuters and sightseers should expect intermittent street closures from 7th Street to 9th Street along Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and on 7th Street from D Street to Constitution Avenue, NW throughout the weekend. The hours for these temporary disruptions on Saturday and Sunday are from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., potentially affecting traffic flow and public transit routes in the city center.
