In a move to curb the potential abuse and environmental hazards of unused pharmaceuticals, the White Settlement Police Department is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration for their semiannual Drug Take Back Day. In line with their safety and community service goals, the department has extended an open invitation via its social media channels, urging community members to bring their expired or unused medications for proper disposal.
Participation in the DEA initiative is simple, as the White Settlement Police Department highlighted in a Facebook post: "Don't forget tomorrow we have our DEA Drug Take Back Day event. Stop by our police department tomorrow to dispose of your unused or expired medications and drop them off between 10am and 2pm."
Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to ensure their medicines do not become a source of harm or contamination.
