
Following a disturbing social media incident involving Windsor High School, the Town of Windsor Police Department has reported the arrest of a 16-year-old student. The police department took action after encountering a Snapchat message sent by the student yesterday, stating, "I'm shooting up the school." Quick collaboration between deputies and school officials led to the student's prompt and peaceful removal from class, according to the Town of Windsor Police Department.
Despite the unsettling announcement meant to be perceived as a joke, according to the student, the Windsor Police swiftly secured the premises of Windsor High School. The Windsor Police Department and school staff determined that the student did not possess any weapons after having searched the student's belongings. Nonetheless, the severity of the threat did not go unrecognized, resulting in the arrest of the student on charges of making criminal threats. They were subsequently booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility.
In conveying the resolution of this event, the Town of Windsor Police Department assures the community that "there are no current threats or safety concerns for students or staff at Windsor High School."
