A woman was found deceased in northwest Harris County after suffering a gunshot wound in what deputies suspect to be a road rage incident, local authorities report. The incident occurred late night yesterday when Harris County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Caruso Forest Drive and Pincay Oaks Street, following reports of a vehicle collision and gunfire.

According to Click2Houston, on arrival at approximately 11:30 p.m., the deputies discovered a silver SUV that had crashed into a tree outside a residence. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. "Multiple gunshots had been fired at the vehicle," Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Investigators are considering the likelihood that the shooting took place close by, within the neighborhood before the victim crashed her vehicle. Harris County deputies are now reviewing surveillance footage from the area in an attempt to identify the suspect or suspects involved. No potential suspects have been identified, and the Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with any relevant information to come forward, as per a KHOU report.

As the search for answers continues, the Harris County Sheriff's Office has made a public appeal, asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact their office or Crime Stoppers. "She appears to have been shot and killed somewhere here in the vicinity, somewhere in the neighborhood and then crashed the vehicle there," Sgt. Brown told Click2Houston.
