
A woman lost her life in a homicide late Sunday night at the Jordan at Mueller Apartment complex in Central East Austin. The incident is currently being investigated as the city’s 21st homicide of the year. According to a statement obtained by KVUE, the Austin Police Department responded to an emergency call at 10:15 p.m. located at 2724 Philomena St., near East 51st St.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with injuries. The woman was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her wounds. The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed as authorities are still seeking a suspect. Witnesses within the complex are said to be cooperating with the investigation. Officer Jeremy Fischer informed KVUE that the incident did not take place inside a building but somewhere within the apartment complex.
While the specifics surrounding the case remain sparse, officials asserted there is no ongoing danger to the public. The Austin Police Department is actively working the leads and has encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
