An early morning shooting in El Sereno has left a woman in critical condition, creating a ripple of concern in the Los Angeles community. The incident unfolded shortly after midnight on Wednesday, when reports of gunfire led police to the intersection of Templeton Street and Pueblo Avenue.
According to KTLA, the 33-year-old victim was standing near the reported location when she heard a gunshot and subsequently realized that she had been hit. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains in a critical state. As of yet, the identity of the woman has been withheld.
In the absence of a suspect description, the LAPD is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest. "Anyone who knows more is asked to contact LAPD investigators," stated a report by CBS Los Angeles. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the shooting are urged to step forward.
The City News Service reports that officers from the Hollenbeck Division responded to the shots fired call at 12:35 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered the injured woman who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Despite the early hour and the abrupt violence, the emergency response teams, including paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, were swift in providing aid and transporting the victim to safety.
