After more than two decades of dedicated service, Dennyse Loll, known affectionately as DD, has stepped down from her role as the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) Volunteer Services Coordinator. During a heartfelt retirement ceremony, which included her family, friends, and colleagues, Loll was lauded for her tireless work, which was integral to the function of the agency’s prominent volunteer force.
Sheriff David Rhodes acknowledged the deep impact of Loll's departure: "It will be tough to replace the radar you had for how you could help the volunteers and get things done." With around 400 volunteers under YCSO's wing, Loll played a key role in managing a team that constitutes nearly half of the agency, providing crucial services without public funding. According to a report by YCSO, DD’s efforts were essential in facilitating this vital aspect of the sheriff's office.
Loll credited her faith as being a guiding force throughout her career. In a poignant moment, she told those gathered, "I prayed for this job before I got it, and I really felt I was a servant of God for His glory, and not just shuffling papers here," as reported by YCSO. She also took the opportunity to thank her family for their support despite the long hours required of her, as well as her YCSO supervisors for fostering her humility.
DD was honored by her parents at the event, her mother recounting that her daughter was "quite the character growing up, but she was always looking to help somebody no matter who they were, and she was very kind and helpful to everyone." The sentiments of steadfastness and kindness were echoed by Loll's father and brother, noting her "stick-to-it stubbornness," and describing her as "kind, sweet, unselfish and generous," as mentioned by YCSO.
Her colleagues mirrored these impressions, one telling the gathering, "She always made the best of everything, had a good attitude with a smile, and treated everyone kind," as noted by YCSO. DD, alongside her husband Jeff, originally joined the YCSO as volunteers, and her pragmatic approach to life and work made a lasting mark on the agency.
