IIn a recent operation by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department and the Yuba County Probation Department, two individuals with alleged affiliations to the Norteño criminal street gang were apprehended in Marysville. The arrests occurred during a probation compliance initiative led by the county's Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team, according to a Facebook post by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.
The operation, which took place on Thursday, led to the arrest of 18-year-old Raymond Hernandez Jr. and a minor on the 5900 block of Park Avenue. Law enforcement officials reported seizing an assault rifle and a Polymer80 handgun during the incident. These firearms are of particular concern to authorities, as the Polymer80 is a so-called "ghost gun"—lacking a serial number and therefore difficult to trace. The suspects are facing multiple firearms-related charges, including those connected to gang activity, according to the Sheriff's Department.
